ZaZoo Crooner, Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as ‘Portable’ was defeated by Social Media Comedian Carter Efe in celebrity boxing on Friday night.
The fight, held at the Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, saw Efe dominate across all three rounds, with all three judges scoring the bout 27-30 in his favour.
Portable, who had previously beaten Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington to claim two championship belts, entered the ring with his characteristic bravado, promising to add a third title at Efe’s expense.
“I will use you to collect my third belt,” the singer had warned ahead of the fight. “Charles Okocha was bigger than you, Speed Darlington was bigger than you, and I beat them. I will beat you now.”
Efe remained unfazed, responding simply, “One punch and you fall.”
In the opening round, Portable came out aggressively, throwing wild, erratic punches in his trademark style. However, the taller Efe absorbed the pressure and countered effectively with crisp uppercuts and body shots that troubled the smaller-framed singer.
Portable’s approach did not change in the second round as he continued to throw wide shots and clinch repeatedly, but Efe grew sharper, landing more solid combinations. The third round followed a similar pattern, with Efe consistently finding his mark before the final bell.
The victory stripped Portable of his status as celebrity boxing king and confirmed Efe as the new champion.
