staffer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Egwumah Omachonu Friday, on Thursday, told the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) sitting in Abuja that he was unable to transmit the presidential election results to INEC server despite being able to transmit Senate and House of Representatives election results at the time.
Egwumah a subpoenaed witness who was an ad-hoc staff of the electoral body during the February 25 general elections said the election was peaceful but presidential election results were unable to be transmitted along with other results.
The witness, a presiding officer for INEC was led in evidence by Chief Chris Uche (SAN), the lead counsel to the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his party, who are the petitioners, stated that he served at the 017 polling unit of Abia state.
Under cross-examination by Mr Abubakar Mahmud SAN, who stood for the electoral body, Egwuma explained that he resorted to an offline system in place of the BVAS machines.
In her own testimony, Grace Timothy told the Court that the greatest challenge she experienced during the election was the uploading of the presidential election results into the I- rev portal.
The witnesses were also cross-examined by Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN who stood for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN who represented the All Progressives Congress APC.
Meanwhile, further hearing in the petition has been shifted to June 9 by the Presiding Justice of the Court, Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani
