Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy has officially set a new milestone as the African artiste with the highest number of entries on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 chart.

The Grammy-winning singer secured the top spot after his collaboration with Colombian superstar Shakira on the official 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem, “Dai Dai,” debuted at number 75.

This entry marks his ninth appearance on the prestigious chart, surpassing the previous record of eight entries held by singer Tems.

Burna Boy shared the news of his achievement on social media on Tuesday, celebrating the milestone as a major step in his global musical journey. In addition to this record, he maintains the distinction of being the first African artiste to chart at least one song on the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive years.

His extensive list of chart-topping appearances includes notable hits such as “Last Last,” “Sitting On Top of the World,” “Talibans II,” and “We Pray,” among others.

Beyond his Billboard success, the artiste recently achieved a significant career high on Spotify, crossing the 40 million monthly listeners mark. As he continues to garner international recognition, he has also secured multiple nominations ahead of the upcoming 2026 Grammy Awards.
