President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the Government and People of Adamawa State over the sad demise of Dr Mamud Tukur.

Mahmud Tukur, a former Minister of Commerce and Industry and the first Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano (BUK), died in Abuja on Friday after a brief illness and he has been buried in Yola, according to Islamic rites.

But the President’s delegation arrived the government house Yola on Sunday conveying the condolences of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Chief of Staff to the President Prof. Ibrahim Gambari led the delegation accompanied by the FCT Minister Mohammed Bello and other dignitaries.

He described the late Dr Tukur as a true Nigerian, a mentor and role model to generations.

President Buhari prayed Allah to grant Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the family, Government and People of Adamawa the fortitude to bear the loss of an illustrious son, whose memory, is eternal honour, respect and gratitude of many Nigerians.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who expressed his appreciation and that of the People of Adamawa State to the President, disclosed that the death of Dr Tukur has left a vacuum, pointing out that “We’ve lost a great son of Adamawa, a brother and father who was committed to the Adamawa project. His wealth of experience will be greatly missed by all”.

Governor Fintiri prayed Allah to grant Dr Tukur his endless mercy, admit him into Aljanna.
