The mystery surrounding the death of a 100-level student of the Taraba State University (TSU) Comfort Jimtop Oliver took a new turn over the weekend after her suspected lover, Emmanuel Kefas, was also found dead.
Emmanuel a 2024 graduate of Human Kinetics from the same institution was found dead in the Tudiri community, a few meters away from Jalingo, the state capital.
Residents of the area suspected that he must have committed su!cide following the death of Comfort in his house.
Recall that Comfort died in her boyfriend’s house in Jalingo where her body was found.
The deceased lovers were all residents of Bakasi, and had lived about 200 meters away from each other’s houses, near Dr. Rapha Memorial Guest Inn, by the Vice-Chancellor’s Gate in Jalingo.
Comfort, who was found dead under questionable circumstances, was said to be in a relationship with Emmanuel since when he was still a student of the institution. Comfort, an indigene of Takum Local Government Area, was identified as a member of the Kuteb ethnic group.
According to Police, empty bottles of hard drinks were found beside the bed where she died.
The state police command has since commenced an investigation into the incident
