This was convened in a statement by the Benue Supervising Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism,Ogbu Dennis Ekpe on Friday.

The Government appeals to security agencies to do everything possible to uncover the whereabouts of the reporter, but that if by chance the young man is being held by any of them for whatever reason, they should release him or in the alternative, charge him to court if he has committed any crime known to the law.

The State Government further appeals to the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of the Department of State Service (DSS) to build on their synergy and rescue the journalist and the young Nigerians so that they can return to their families.

The Benue State Government maintains that it is committed to the safety of all her indigenes at home and in the diaspora and will not rest on its oars until Salem and the young students are rescued from the hands of their abductors.
