The Edo State Police Command has apprehended an 18-year-old suspect, Kingdom Paul, for allegedly murdering a 38-year-old woman, Victory Oro, in Benin.

The incident reportedly took place last Thursday at a local lodge where the two had met for a paid sexual encounter.

Following an agreement, Paul and Oro were said to have completed their arrangement when an altercation broke out between them.

Paul allegedly stabbed Oro during the disagreement.

The woman was rushed to a hospital located on Upper Ekenwan Road, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her body has been deposited in the hospital’s mortuary for an autopsy.

The teenager was one of several individuals paraded by the Edo Police Command at their headquarters in Benin City. Edo State Police Spokesman, SP Moses Joel Yamu, said;

“On 05/09/2024 at about 12:00 noon, operatives of Evbuotubu Division acting on information, arrested one Kingdom Paul ‘m’ 18yrs who stabbed one lady named Victory Oro ‘f 38yrs in a lodge where they went to have fun.

“The victim was immediately rushed to Supreme Hospital, Upper Ekenwan where she gave up the ghost. Her corpse has been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy. Investigation is ongoing.”

Speaking with reporters, Paul admitted to the crime, confessing that he attacked Oro suddenly and without any apparent reason, despite having agreed earlier to pay her N2,000 for the encounter.
