The Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP Ajao Saka Adewale, has charged personnel of the Command to uphold professionalism, discipline and alertness in the discharge of their duties.
The charge was given on Sunday, October 18, 2026, during an unannounced operational tour of five police divisions across Ogbia and Nembe Local Government Areas of the state.
The divisions inspected were Otuokpoti, Kolo and Ogbia Divisions in Ogbia LGA, and Nembe-Ogbolomabiri and Nembe-Bassambiri Divisions in Nembe LGA.
During the tour, CP Adewale inspected station facilities, detention cells and duty posts to assess personnel readiness, discipline, level of sanitation and compliance with extant police regulations.
He directed Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to ensure that stations are kept clean and functional, strengthen supervisory control over their men, and ensure officers remain alert and professional at all times.
The Commissioner also cautioned officers against unlawful arrests, arbitrary detention and other actions that infringe on the fundamental rights of citizens, emphasizing that all arrests and detentions must strictly conform with the law and established police procedures.
He assured residents of the state that the Command will sustain its supervisory and oversight visits to ensure effective, responsive and professional policing across Bayelsa State.
