The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Jama’are Local Government Area of Bauchi State has expelled , former House of Representatives candidate for the Jama’are/Itas-Gadau constituency in the 2023 elections, Hon. Haruna Muhammad Jungudo.

Jungudo who was recently announced Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Bauchi State PDP by the faction loyal to FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike was expelled over alleged anti-party activities

The decision was contained in a communiqué issued after an emergency meeting of Jama’are A Ward leaders held on Monday, December 8, 2025, to review petitions and complaints brought against Jungudo.

Others included open confrontation and disobedience towards the PDP-led government in Bauchi State, and failure to support party activities during the 2023 elections, leaving loyalists “abandoned”

He was also accused of allegedly working with some expelled members of the party to hijack the PDP leadership structure in the state without recognition from legitimate organs of the party.

“These actions amount to gross misconduct, disloyalty and anti-party behavior in violation of the PDP constitution,” the communiqué stated.

The ward executives therefore resolved to expel Jungudo from the PDP with immediate effect, effective December 8, 2025.

“We wish him well in his future endeavours,” the statement added.

Reacting to the expulsion, the Secretary of the Bauchi PDP Caretaker Committee, Alhaji Safiyanu Zubairu, dismissed the action in its entirety.

“I do not want to dignify them with a response. How can they claim to expel someone who has already been appointed Chairman of the Bauchi State PDP Caretaker Committee following the NEC resolution that dissolved the entire state exco and expelled Governor Bala Mohammed on  November 18, 2025?”

He accused the ward leadership of lacking legitimacy, questioning whether they had complied with Chapter 10, Article 57 of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended), or whether their own elections violated Article 48(1).

“All decisions taken by the dissolved Bauchi State PDP exco from state to ward level are null and void,” he argued.

Zubairu further claimed that their actions were politically motivated, describing them as “Food-is-ready politicians”, and alleging they had repeatedly disregarded court orders—likening their conduct to what he called an “illegal Amala Carnival” held in Ibadan by their “paymasters”.

He urged party members to remain calm, noting that the caretaker chairman and his committee would address the public soon on developments within the party.

“If they have sense, they should be asking why the governor is seeking asylum in the PRP,” he concluded.
