Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi state on Monday evening announced his administration’s plan to upgrade major markets and motor parks in Bauchi metropolis and other parts of the state.

The affected markets and motor parks are, Bauchi Central market, Muda Lawal market, Wunti market, Railway market, Yankari motor park, Muda Lawal motor park, Gombe road motor park, Dass motor park and Kofan ran motor park.

The governor made these known while hosting Bauchi local government PDP stakeholders on a Ramadan breakfast at Old Banquet Hall, Government House, Bauchi, also said Azare, Misau and Ningi areas will also be considered in the construction of new markets and motor parks.

Governor Bala Mohammed who noted that, the modernization and upgrade of the markets and motor parks would be conducted through public-private partnership (PPP) and assured local traders across the state that they would be part of the process.

To this end, the governor said 300 million naira has been budgeted to be disburse to traders across the state in order to improve their business activities for economic development.

“I am grateful to people of Bauchi Local Government because they have done so much to me and I will do more in Bauchi Local Government through construction of access roads to expand it’s cities, improve water supply and I will continue to execute projects that will bring positive development to the state for the benefit of the citizens of the state.

“So far, I have fulfilled 90 percent of my campaign promises and therefor we must remain united as stakeholders of our party in Bauchi local government, there is need for unity among all of you for our success.

PDP stakeholders in Bauchi local government while applauding Governor Bala Mohammed for the number of projects executed in the area, reaffirmed their support and cooperation to his administration for more success in the delivery of dividends of democracy.
