Bauchi State Government has again received another donation of drugs from the United States base non governmental organization known as Map International Global Distribution Center at Brunswick Georgia.
This came after Bauchi State Government sent in a two man delegation to the United States which include the Executive Chairman, Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Rilwanu Mohammed alongside Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Multilateral Isa Sale.
The multilateral visit which is currently ongoing, there has been series of discussions as to how the partnership between the US base organizations and the Bauchi State Government will work in true bilateral partnership in such away that would translate to delivering functional and dependable health care system in the state.
According to available report, Map International, a Georgia resident NGO, has already handed over the donated drugs to the state’s delegation estimated at 23 million dollars (11 billion naira). However, out of magnanimity, the Universal Parcel Service (UPS) also agreed to make a delivery of all the drugs “Free of Charge” as part of their support to visionary leadership of the current Government, helping vulnerable ones to have access to quality drugs, a drugs certified by the World Health Organization.
According to the state delegation, this partnership is first of its kinds in the Northeast part of Nigeria and it has also proven the resilience and leadership commitment of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad to revamping the healthcare sector in Bauchi State.
The Bauchi State 2 man delegation are in the United States of America on a return visit by some US base organizations to discuss issues of primary health care support and also extend hands of further collaborations in other sectors of the economy.
