The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has dismissed the caretaker Chairman, Bala Mahmoud of Alkaleri Local Government Area and his Deputy, with immediate effect.
Their disengagement was announced in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Ibrahim Kashim, made available to journalists in Bauchi on Thursday.
However, the reasons for their dismissal remain unclear as of the time of this report.
The letter, dated Thursday, July 6, 2024, stated that their disengagement was approved by His Excellency, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State.
Kashim directed the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, to ensure that the officers hand over the affairs of the Local Government to the Head of Administration.
“You are therefore requested to instruct the officers to hand over the affairs of the Local Government to the Head of administration,” he added.
