The family of former Governor of the defunct Gongola State, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has announced Sunday September 13th for the burial of the late elder statesman in Yola.
Tukur died in Abuja on Saturday, three days before his 91st birthday.
The burial arrangements were announced by his son, Awwal Tukur, and confirmed in a statement by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.
Tukur’s remains arrived Yola, the Adamawa State capital, on Saturday evening.
According to the statement, funeral prayers will be held at the Lamido’s Palace at 10:00am before the burial.
The late elder statesman is survived by two wives and 18 children, including Awwal Tukur, the Secretary to the Adamawa State Government.
The family expressed appreciation for the outpouring of condolences following the death of the former governor.
