Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has expressed delight with the peaceful conduct of the APC ward congresses across the state today .
Bagudu also reiterated utmost respect for Nigeria’s Judiciary in dispensing justice.
The Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum also affirmed his commitment to the efficacy of the consensus strategy as successfully deployed by the party in today’s exercise .
The Governor was addressing party supporters shortly after the affirmation of the new wards leaders of Nasarawa 2, his own ward in the State.
According to Bagudu:” History has just repeated itself as we had at several times employed consensus and it worked well .
” We are not therefore in anyway surprised that the strategy has again became handy to us in Kebbi .
” APC in Kebbi State is intact , it is one and indivisible, just as we will continue to be same .”
Bagudu lauded all the stakeholders who had exhibited exemplary commitment towards ensuring the success of the exercise .
The Governor said that , all hands must be put on deck to make Kebbi State and Nigeria more united and socioeconomically prosperous .
Bagudu further disclosed that , God gives leadership to any person He wishes and at His own appointed time.
He averred :” True to this , as it is now, only the Almighty Allah knows who will succeed me or President Muhammadu Buhari.
” But whoever will be , we pray that they will be better than us , hence make Kebbi State and Nigeria greater than they are now .”
Bagudu acknowledged that the laudable policies and programmes of Buhari and those of his administration were paying off .
According to him, more will be done in this direction by him and Buhari to further better the living standard of Nigerians, as well as Kebbians.
He specifically stated that , the planned rail line to be constructed by the Federal Government from Zamfara to Sokoto to Kebbi will bolster the development of the
State .
Earlier, Alhaji Abubakar Nayaya, the Chairman of Kebbi State Local Government Service Commission who is one of the stakeholders in Nassarawa 2 and Alhaji Nasiru Kalli, former Chairman of Nasarawa 2 welcomed the committee sent from the National Secretariat of the APC to monitor the ward congresses in the state.
Kalli explained how the consensus agreement was reached with the involvement of all stakeholders.
” I am happy to let you know that in Nassarawa 2 before the emergence of the ward leaders through consensus, we met the stakeholders one by one and reached agreement ‘, he said.
The Chairman of Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area, Hon Aminu Sarkin Fada congratulated the governor for smooth conduct of the congress in his ward.
He called on the ward leaders to remain committed to their responsibilities and enlighten electorates on the new polling units announced by INEC.
The Birnin Kebbi Council boss also intimated them on the ongoing INEC online registration and the need for them to mobilize people to partake actively.
Also the APC Caretaker Chairman of Birnin Kebbi Local Government, Alhaji Sani Bello made it clear that all stakeholders were involved the final decision for consensus.
He said everybody, including youths and women were consulted before the decision to adopt the concept of consensus.
Bello reeled out developmental strides of governor Bagudu in the state and pledged total loyalty of ward excos to the governor.
The elected ward Chairman of Nasarawa 2, Murtala Umar , expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in them by people of the ward.
He pledged to carry everybody along and work assiduously with his members for the success of the party.
In his remarks, Dr. Osita Okechukwu, the leader of monitoring committee sent by the National Secretariat of APC from Abuja, commended Governor Bagudu, stakeholders and party members for cooperation, solidarity and working together for the progress of the party.
“We also congratulate Gov. Bagudu because without a good governor , the unity we are witnessing in the state will not be here.
“We commend you highly because some states are not united as Kebbi state and we have witnessed the unity which is worth emulating.
“Mr President Muhammad Buhari has directed us to build our party from bottom to top, and this is what Kebbi state is doing , and is not possible for opponents to defeat us,” the chairman said.
He equally extolled the governor for his effort to bolster rice production in Kebbi and Nigeria as a whole .
At the end , the new leaders and delegates took affirmation and presented before APC members of Nasarawa 2 ward.
