Ondo Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been sworn in as the substantive Governor following the demise of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
The oath of office was administered on Aiyedatiwa at 5:14 pm. by the State Chief Judge, Justice Olusegun Odusola at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s office in Akure on Wednesday.
His swearing-in makes Aiyedatiwa the seventh civilian governor of the state.
Present to witness the ceremony are top Judges in the state, government officials and politicians.
Recall that Akeredolu died at age 67 in Germany in the early hours of Wednesday after a protracted leukaemia.
On December 12, the late Governor handed over power to Aiyedatiwa ahead of another period of medical leave.
