It was gathered that the robbers overtook the man on Shiroro Road, seized the money and also made away with the victim’s Toyota Camry.

It was further learnt that the victim recovered one of the rifles used by the robbers during the attack.

The spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed the incident said that the police recovered the rifle and the vehicle abandoned by the suspects.

He said efforts were ongoing to apprehend the fleeing robbers.

“On March 6, 2026, at about 3 pm, suspected armed robbers attacked a Toyota Camry reportedly trailed from a bank to Shiroro Road,” the PPRO said

“The victim was robbed of a sum of money and his vehicle, while the robbers abandoned their Toyota Corolla and escaped with the victim’s vehicle.

“Further findings indicated that the victim recovered one of the robbers’ rifles. Police operatives attached to Tudun-Wada Division moved to the scene, recovered the rifle and the robbers’ vehicle.

“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Minna, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.”
