Alhaji Muhammad who insisted that the South East zone deserves the exclusive right to produce the next president as a way of giving equal right to all segments of the Country identified Governor Umahi as a formidable option to return the nation to the path of progress.

“I feel very humble and honoured to celebrate with your excellency the Christmas and new year.

“Our founding fathers who died in the course of building this Country are very much alive in Uburu.

“I have seen the presence of governance in the State, your excellency, you are a perfect definition of the leader we desire.”

Responding, Governor David Nweze Umahi thanked the Arewa Youth Advocate for peace and Unity for the warm sentiments and reiterated his belief in one Nigeria.

“We are one people and I have always stood for the unity of the Country and this is my position, it doesn’t matter who it offends. Our leaders have used religion and politics to destroy us, so it is very good for us to rise beyond that.”

He maintained that if about 70% of Nigerians would show patriotism, the Country would become a better place.

Earlier while receiving members of the Ebonyi founding fathers Forum, Governor Umahi appealed to them to remain united and assume their duties as elders of the State to jointly move the state forward.

“My happiness is that in your lifetime, some of you have lived to see what you fought for. It is unfortunate that extreme politics almost destroyed the platform of founding fathers and I am happy you are back”

The leader of the Forum and former Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Boniface Chima said they were in the Governor’s home to celebrate the yuletide with him and congratulate him on his modest achievements.

“Your excellency, we the founding fathers of the State are appreciative of your policies in the State.

“We give you the unalloyed support in your administration, we know the efforts your excellency has made to place the State in the map of entrepreneurs and we are happy with you.”

The Governor also played host to members of the EXCO under former Governor Martin Elechi.

Spokespersons for the group, Dr. Ben Igwenyi, Chief Celestine Nwali and Dr. Boniface Chima
commended Governor Umahi for massive transformation of the State and promised to support his administration to succeed.

The Governor thanked the group for remaining united even after years after exiting power.

While describing former Governor Martin Elechi as his destiny helper said his defection to the APC was a miracle in the State.

The Governor who later received in audience, the members of ALGON Ebonyi State led by the Chairman who is the Chairman of Ohaozara LGA Princess Nkechinyere Iyioku appealed to them to tighten their seat belts for the tasking demands of development in 2021.

The Chairman thanked the Governor for the opportunity to serve in his administration and pledged to step down the good polices of his administration to the grassroots and tackle incessant herders-farmers clashes in their localities.

“I want to first of all thank you and God for the opportunity to work with you. It is a very good relationship and we are happy. We want to thank you for joining APC, it is a good initiative and all of us are APC because joining APC has united all the stakeholders.

Onicha Igboeze clan, Government House Staff led by Chief of Staff Dr. Queen Agwu, Ministry of Finance, Traditional Medicine Practitioners, Uburu High Chiefs among others were among visitors to the Governor’s home.
