The Allied People’s Movement, APM, has announced a comprehensive governance blueprint, pledging to overhaul Nigeria’s economic and security architecture if it wins the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on Monday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, the APM criticised the current administration’s handling of national affairs. It cited rising inflation, unemployment and systemic instability as reasons for a change in leadership.

The APM has gained prominence as an opposition platform following the entry of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde. Makinde, who formed an alliance with the APM earlier this year, has emerged as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 election.

The party said its agenda focuses on reviving the productive sector, rebuilding critical infrastructure and reforming security agencies to better protect citizens.

According to the APM, the blueprint is designed to reverse trends such as the exit of multinational corporations and the mass migration of skilled professionals, commonly referred to as “Japa.”

The party’s leadership argued that the nation is currently facing a period of “rudderless governance,” characterized by high debt levels and widespread economic hardship. Citing an unemployment rate of over 33 percent and significant levels of poverty, the APM emphasized that its strategy prioritizes inclusive human development, transparency, and fiscal accountability.

The APM stated that its policy framework is designed to move beyond traditional governance by implementing strict anti-corruption measures and fostering private sector productivity. The party indicated that it intends to provide a credible alternative in the upcoming election cycle, with a focus on strategic investments in key sectors including energy, agriculture, education, and healthcare.

While a full, detailed version of the policy document is expected to be unveiled in the coming months, the party asserted that its platform remains service-oriented and geared toward restoring national stability and economic prosperity for all citizens.
