The All Progressives Congress (APC) has completed the submission of its presidential, vice-presidential, Senate and House of Representatives candidates for the 2027 general elections to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The party successfully uploaded a total of 471 candidates to the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal (ICNP) ahead of the electoral commission’s deadline.
The development was announced by the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, in a statement shared via his official 𝕏 account on Friday.
Yilwatda described the completion of the candidate nomination process as a significant milestone for the ruling party, noting that the APC’s attention would now shift towards campaign preparations ahead of the 2027 polls.
“I congratulate our candidates, leaders, and members of APC on the successful 100% upload of our Presidential, Vice Presidential, Senate, and House of Representatives candidates on the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal (ICNP).
“With this milestone achieved, our focus now shifts to mobilization and preparations for a successful campaign and decisive victory at the polls,” he stated.
The latest development comes shortly after the APC formally submitted the nomination forms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, who will fly the party’s flag in the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking during the submission ceremony in Abuja, Yilwatda expressed confidence that the ruling party would retain power in the next general election.
According to him, the APC already has a strong electoral base, boasting about 12 million registered members across the country who are expected to support the party at the polls.
He also cited President Tinubu’s overwhelming endorsement during the APC presidential primary as an indication of the broad support the President enjoys within the party.
Yilwatda further argued that the administration’s programmes and development projects had continued to attract more Nigerians to the APC, expressing optimism that beneficiaries of the government’s policies would translate their support into votes during the 2027 elections.
The APC chairman maintained that with its candidate nomination process now concluded, the party is fully prepared to begin nationwide mobilisation and campaign activities ahead of the general elections.
