The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu has tendered his resignation to the senate.
The senator who represents Nasarawa West district at the Nigerian Senate tendered the resignation, Tuesday, in a letter addressed to the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.
He however said in the letter that the resignation consequent upon his election as the helmsman of the ruling party takes effect from April 01, 2022.
“I am, with utmost respect and appreciation, informing you that consequent to my victory as National Chairman in the just concluded APC convention, I hereby formally resign as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing Nasarawa West senatorial district with effect from April 1, 2022,” part of the letter read.
Senator Adamu commended the Senate President for his style of leadership in the ninth Senate and for being “non-partisan.”
Until his resignation, Senator Adamu was a two-term governor of Nasarawa State and a third-term Senator in the Senate.
He was first elected in 2011 under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) where he represented his district until the resignation.
