The All Progressives Congress in Kano State has rejected claims that its members engaged in violent attacks against the New Nigeria Peoples Party and the Kwankwasiyya Movement.
The allegations follow a report by the Kwankwasiyya Movement accusing the APC of orchestrating attacks against its members during a peaceful gathering in Rogo Local Government Area.
According to the Movement, the event, organised to receive defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party, was fully lawful and cleared by the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services.
In response, Hon. Auwalu Soja Gwale described the claims as misleading, attributing the disturbances to internal tensions within the NNPP.
He insisted that the APC has never encouraged violence against rival parties and remains committed to lawful and peaceful political engagement.
Gwale urged relevant security agencies to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident, emphasising that anyone found responsible should face the full weight of the law, regardless of political affiliation.
He also called on all political actors in Kano to avoid actions or statements capable of escalating tensions, stressing that political disagreements should not degenerate into violence.
