The Apapa Area Command of the Nigerian customs Service says it has generated a total of N366 billion from January to June, 2021.
This represents a 61% increase when compared to the N227 billion collected in the first half of 2020.
The Customs Area Controller Yusuf, Malanta Ibrahim made this known during a Press Briefing held on Tuesday, 6 July 2021.
He further noted that the Command generated a revenue of N78.4 billion in the month of June 2021.
The briefing also revealed that goods with a total of 1.6 million tones and FOB value of $103 billion have been exported through Apapa port between January to June 2021.
“I want to use this medium to urge all importers, exporters, Customs brokers, and freight forwarders to imbibe the culture of compliance as part of their standard operating procedure because it will reduce the time and cost of doing business” he said.
The Area controller also appreciated the CG of Customs for the support given to them in the course of discharging their responsibilities.
