Nigerian Air Force Squadron Leader Nurudeen Popoola, who was abducted by suspected bandits in December last year, has been regained his freedom.
Popoola who is currently undergoing medical treatment at an undisclosed hospital was reportedly released after ransom payment.
The abduction took place at the residence adjacent to the National Eye Centre Quarters, Mando, Kaduna, where Popoola, his wife Ganiyat Olawale-Popoola, and their cousin Abdulmumin Folaranmi were taken.
The Air Force officer’s release was confirmed on Friday.
The kidnappers, after receiving an undisclosed amount of money, released Popoola, while his wife and cousin remain in captivity.
The family members expressed gratitude for Popoola’s release but urged continued prayers for the safe release of the remaining hostages.
