The National power grid on Wednesday collapsed for the eleventh time this year, 2024.
The latest collapse happened at about 2:09 pm on Wednesday.
A tweet from the official handle of Nigeria’s National Grid, said: “A major grid setback has occurred and the restoration is to commence.”
Data obtained from the Nigerian system operator’s portal showed that the grid recorded zero megawatts (MW) as of 2:00 pm on Wednesday.
The Abuja Electric Distribution Company (AEDC) on its X handle said the system failure at the grid happened at 1:33 pm.
“We wish to inform you that a system disturbance occurred on the national grid at 1:33 pm today causing power outage across our franchise areas.
“While gradual restoration of power supply has commenced, be assured that we are coordinating closely with relevant stakeholders to restore power fully as soon as the grid is stabilized,” AEDC said.
Since January 2024 until date, the grid has collapsed 11 times
