The family of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has described the rescue of Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her twin sons, Peter and Paul, as a powerful reminder of the importance of national unity and coordinated action in addressing insecurity in Nigeria.

Recall that Mrs John-Paul and her children were recently abducted before being successfully rescued by security operatives after days in captivity.

In a statement issued through Adelabu’s media aide, Femi Awogboro, the family expressed gratitude to God, security agencies, and Nigerians who contributed in various ways to the safe return of the victims.

The statement confirmed that the rescued victims were in stable condition and receiving appropriate care following their release.

According to the family, the outcome demonstrated the effectiveness of cooperation between security institutions and the public in responding to kidnapping cases.

The Adelabu family also commended President Bola Tinubu for what it described as his concern and commitment to the safety and welfare of Nigerians.

It also acknowledged the support of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, during the period the victims were in captivity.

Special recognition was given to the Inspector-General of Police, the Nigeria Police Force leadership, the Oyo State Police Command, and the state Commissioner of Police for their roles in the rescue operation.

The family further praised the Department of State Services (DSS), noting that intelligence-led operations from both its national headquarters in Abuja and the Oyo State Directorate contributed significantly to the success of the mission.

The family stressed that insecurity remains a national challenge that cuts across political, ethnic, religious, and social boundaries, urging greater collaboration among all stakeholders.

It called for sustained cooperation between government institutions, security agencies, political leaders, community actors, and citizens to effectively combat criminal activities.

The statement added that collective vigilance and unity remain essential tools in ensuring the safety of lives and property across the country.

While celebrating the rescue, the family also expressed sympathy for other kidnapping victims still held by criminal elements across the country.

It prayed for their safe return and urged Nigerians not to relent in supporting efforts aimed at securing their freedom.

The family further encouraged citizens to remain united against insecurity, stressing that only a coordinated national response can guarantee lasting peace and safety for all.
