He said his over 30years experience in Business, Agriculture and Politics gives him the expertise needed to govern the state.

During a media engagement held in Abeokuta on Monday, Adebutu rejected claims that he lacks the capacity to govern the state.

Addressing persistent allegations that his success is primarily tied to his family’s wealth, the candidate stated that he has built his own independent business ventures.

He specifically pointed to his extensive work in animal husbandry and agro-processing, noting that these investments have created significant employment opportunities and contributed to the state’s economic development. He emphasized that he has consistently used his personal resources for humanitarian and community development initiatives since entering politics in 1992.

Regarding his vision for Ogun State, Adebutu identified insecurity as the most urgent issue requiring intervention. He pledged that, if elected, his administration would prioritize the safety of lives and property, building upon his history of supporting security agencies with logistics and infrastructure.

The candidate also spoke extensively on the need for local government reform, arguing that grassroots development has been stifled by excessive state control. He proposed restoring autonomy to local councils to ensure more effective and accountable governance.

Furthermore, Adebutu outlined a comprehensive plan to modernize the state’s infrastructure, healthcare, and education sectors. He placed a specific emphasis on vocational and technical training, noting that current educational outcomes must be better aligned with the demands of the modern labor market.

The media parley was attended by key party figures, including PDP state chairman Abayomi Tella and deputy gubernatorial candidate Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo

Former senator Iyabo Obasanjo, who was also present, voiced her support for the PDP’s vision, citing a commitment to integrity and people-centered development as the foundation of her return to the party. Party leadership dismissed recent rumors of internal weakness, asserting that the PDP remains a vibrant and competitive force in the lead-up to the 2027 polls.
