Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has donated 15 Toyota Hilux vehicles and 300 motorcycles to strengthen security across state’s emirates and chiefdoms.
Vehicles were presented to traditional rulers on Thursday by Deputy Governor, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, who represented governor at meeting with federal and state security administrators.
Speaking at meeting, deputy governor emphasized importance of grassroots intelligence gathering, effective border surveillance, and stronger collaboration between traditional institutions and security agencies to tackle security threats, including Boko Haram and ISWAP.
She also called for improved joint patrols and use of modern technology, including drones, to address illegal migration, arms proliferation, and smuggling. Traditional rulers were urged to identify suspicious movements and resolve local disputes before they escalate into violence.
Meanwhile, Senior Special Assistant to National Security Adviser on Governance and Subnational Affairs, Akoro Agishara, commended Adamawa State Government for its continued support for security agencies.
Emir of Mubi, Alhaji Abubakar Isa Ahmadu, who received vehicles on behalf of his fellow traditional rulers, expressed appreciation to state government, describing donation as significant boost to security efforts across Adamawa State.
This initiative demonstrates Fintiri administration’s commitment to strengthening security, empowering traditional institutions, and promoting peace and stability across Adamawa State.
