Labour Party National Chairman, Julius Abure has been re-elected to steer the ship of the party for another four years.
Abure was reelected at the party convention on Wednesday despite his running battle with the NLC leadership led by Joe Ajaero.
The NLC has called for Abure’s resignation as party chairman and the immediate constitution of a caretaker transition committee to organise a legitimate and all-inclusive national convention for the party.
But the Chairman of the National Convention and Deputy Governor of Abia State, Mr Ikechukwu Emetu, declared Abure the winner during the party’s national convention that held in Nnewi, Anambra State.
Meanwhile, the Alh Lamidi Apapa faction of the Labour Party (LP) has described the ongoing national convention of the party today at the Grand Seasons Hotels, Nnewi, Anambra State as a sham.
