Sokoto State Governor , Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has appealed to people of the state capital, particularly those residing around Bado quarters and along Sokoto-Birnin Kebbi road, not to panic as a result of the minor skirmish reported at Sani Dingyadi Secondary School.
A noise was reported on Sunday night in the school premises as student run for safety thinking it was an abduction attempt.
But according Governor Tambuwal, who promptly visited the scene Sunday evening along with his Deputy, Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan’Iya and some Commissioners, upon receiving the information of what was going on, the incident involved a motorbike thief who was chased by some people and ran into the school.
In the ensuing melee, there was an unexpected entrance of the pursuers into the school premises which scared the students, some of who called their parents thinking it was a case of kidnapping.
Gov. Tambuwal, also indicated that the state Commissioner of Police and other security agencies in the state, who he equally called on when the scare broke, are on top of the situation.
He called on the people of the area not to panic and go about their lawful businesses without apprehension.
The Governor who addressed the students assured them of his Government’s determination to ensure their safety at all times.
