The Anambra State Police Command has foiled an alleged plot to murder a citizen and forcefully take over his landed property in Ukwulu, Dunukofia Local Government Area, arresting four suspects and recovering two firearms.*
The breakthrough was recorded on the evening of August 12, 2026, following intelligence emplacement by the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji Ama.
In a statement on Wednesday, Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, said operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, Awkuzu, in collaboration with Agunechemba security personnel attached to Amichi, Nnewi, acted on credible intelligence to disrupt the plot.
The suspects arrested are Obiora Nwankwo, 38; Chiadikobi Okoye, 36; Emmanuel Mboko, 42; and Ifeanyi Obi, 37. They were picked up at different locations in Ukwulu and Amichi.
“During the operation, two firearms and live ammunition were also recovered from the suspects,” Tochukwu stated.
Preliminary investigation revealed the suspects were allegedly linked to a plot to kill the victim and subsequently take over his landed properties.
The Command said a thorough investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the alleged conspiracy, identify other persons connected to it, and determine the specific roles of each suspect.
The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigations.
CP Ama said the operation demonstrates the effectiveness of the Command’s renewed intelligence-led policing strategy aimed at detecting threats early, disrupting planned attacks, and preventing loss of lives and property.
