The Police in Ondo have commenced a probe into the death of dozens of cows in Akungba-Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area.
The incident occurred on Monday night at Ibaka, when it was reported that no fewer than 30 cows mysteriously died.
Although there are speculations that the cows owned by one Ibrahim Saliu were poisoned, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tee-Leo Ikoro said investigation was ongoing.
A similar incident had occurred in the state in 2019 where 36 cows were killed by lightning in Ijare community, Ifedore Local Government Area of the state.
Also, eight cows were killed by lightning in Ikare-Akoko, headquarters of Akoko North East Local Government.
