The NSCDC Public Relations Officer in Zamfara, Ikor Oche, paraded the suspects on behalf of the state commandant, Akushie Sparks, on Friday at the command headquarters in Gusau.

He said the suspects have severally tampered with installations belonging to Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, thereby depriving residents of Maru LGA adequate supply of power.

As such, Oche vowed that the corps would not relent in hunting down people who were hell-bent on truncating and sabotaging the efforts of the government.

The suspects identified as Jamilu Mohammed and Shehu Bashar who are both 18, as well as 22-year-old Bashir Samaila all confessed to the crime.

Similarly, the NSCDC paraded two suspects arrested by operatives for producing fake currency in the Gusau metropolis.

According to Oche, one Summaya Bara, 35, conspired with one Mukhtar Musa, 52, to make fake currency for her.

Bara was said to have given Mukhtar the sum of N500,000 to duplicate N3 million using voodoo, but the duplication failed, and the money given could not be recovered by the former.

The duo confessed to the crime of money doubling while Mukhtar said he had been engaging in such an act since 1999.

Oche revealed that the NSCDC operatives recovered some spiritual perfumes, two white plane cloths, and four papers inform of booklets with Arabic inscriptions from Mukhtar.

He said the five suspects would be charged to court accordingly after the conclusion of the investigations into the crimes they were accused of.

The command’s spokesman warned residents of the state to desist from the ‘get rich quickly’ syndrome which he said has beclouded the society
