The Nigerian in Diaspora Commission says it has evacuated 4,984 Stranded Nigerians in Dubai,United Arab Emirates since the outbreak of the COVID19 Pandemic.
The Commission disclosed this on Saturday while receiving additional 252 at the Murtala Muhammed International airport ,Lagos.
According to NIDCOM,180 out of the 252 who arrives onboard Emirates Airline and claimed they can’t afford a return ticket were sponsored by the United Arab Emirates.
The Commission said from the 4,984 evacuees from 18 flights so far ,UAE government paid for 517 evacuees on 3 fly Dubai flights and 389 on Emirates Airlines.

It added that an additional 174 Nigerians are expected to leave Dubai on 25th August aboard Fly Dubai paid for by the UAE government.
“This will bring the total number of Nigerians evacuated gratis by Dubai authorities to 1,071.”
All evacuees that arrived on Saturday tested Negative to the Coronavirus before boarding and will proceed on 14day self Isolation as mandated by NCDC.
