The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has formally submitted the name of its presidential candidate, Adewole Adebayo, to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party disclosed this in a letter signed by its National Secretary, Olu Agunloye, following its national convention and presidential primary held in Bauchi State.
According to the party, the convention and presidential primary were conducted peacefully at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi.
Adebayo emerged as the sole aspirant and secured the support of delegates and party members to clinch the ticket unopposed.
In the letter titled “Submission of the Name and Other Details of SDP Presidential Candidate,” the party informed INEC that “the presidential candidate nominated by the Social Democratic Party for sponsorship in the 2027 presidential election is Prince Adewole Adebayo.”
The SDP also requested INEC to provide the necessary nomination documents for the completion of the candidate’s nomination process.
The documents requested include Forms EC9, EC9A, EC9B, EC9C, EC9D and EC9E.
Adebayo was the SDP presidential candidate in the 2023 general election.
