Governorship candidates for the 2027 election in Adamawa State have signed a peace accord in Yola.
The accord was signed on Tuesday at a peace summit organised by ABAK Peace Foundation in collaboration with National Peace Committee.
The candidates pledged to reject electoral violence, hate speech, misinformation and personal attacks and to focus campaigns on issue-based visions for development of the state.
The summit attracted political stakeholders to discuss prevention of election-related violence and peaceful resolution of political disagreements.
Organisers said the state-level initiative builds on National Peace Accord signed in Abuja last month by political parties and presidential candidates, aimed at translating national commitment into concrete action at state level.
