The Osun State chapter of The Accord Party has confirmed the successful uploading of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke as its officially nominated candidate for the August 8, 2026 governorship election.

A statement signed by the state chairman of the party, Pastor Victor Babalola Akande further confirmed the Governor’s nomination has been duly captured in the records of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), effectively affirming his candidacy under the Accord platform.

According to the party, the development has put to rest speculations, political maneuverings, and claims suggesting otherwise, describing such narratives as “false expectations and desperate propaganda” by political opponents.

The Accord Party stated that the confirmation reflects the will of the people of Osun State and reinforces the party’s confidence in the democratic process, stressing that political mischief would not override lawful procedures.

The party also expressed appreciation to residents of the state for what it described as overwhelming support and solidarity, noting that the confidence reposed in both the party and Governor Adeleke has continued to strengthen its political resolve.

Accord urged its supporters and other well-meaning citizens not to be distracted by political tension or rhetoric, warning that selfish interests disguised as democratic activism could negatively affect governance and public welfare.

The party further called on eligible voters across the state to ensure they are properly registered and in possession of their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the August 8, 2026 governorship election.

Reaffirming its commitment to continuity, the party said Osun State would remain on the path of stability, progress, and people-centered governance under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The statement was signed by Pastor Victor Babalola Akande, Chairman of the Accord Party in Osun State.
