A boat transporting at least 35 passengers, has capsized at River Rima along the Dundaye axis in Wamakko Local Government Area, Sokoto.
The boat was said to have have overturned as it had taken more passengers beyond its capacity.
The passengers were said to have included the elderly people, women, children, and youths.
15 of the passengers were able swim to safety but rescue had only been able to recover one body.
However officials of the National Emergency Management Agency’s Search and Rescue Team, local divers, and others continued to search for victims yet to be found.
