16 passengers of a commercial bus abducted along the Benin to Iyere Agbanikaka Oluku Road, Edo State, on Friday September 5, have been rescued.
This was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Edo state police command, CSP Moses Joel Yamu.
Gunmen alleged to be Fulani Herdsmen kidnapped the passengers of New Edo Line bus along the Benin-Auchi road on Saturday.
The kidnappers who took over the road also kidnapped passengers in two other vehicles.
The abductors were said to have dragged their victims through a bush path to their hideout inside the forest.
A video of other commuters of the road moments after the abduction occured, made the rounds on social media on Saturday.
