Others are Oritogun Samson, Obasa Idowu, Solomon Adelani, Lateef Saidat, Taiwo Abimbola,Adeniyi Olayinka and Precious Adeyeri.

Prosecuting the waste offenders, Sanitarian Abolaji Dasaolu, said they were arrested at about 8.a.m at Tekobo, Idi-Aba of Abeokuta Magisterial District, for dumping refuse on a public road.

Dasaolu noted that the refuse emitted an offensive smell that attracted flies, liable to spread cholera, which is dangerous to health.

He added that depositing refuse on public roads and drains could block public drains, which predisposes the city to flooding are dangerous to life and property.

He said the offences are both contrary to Public Health Law of Ogun State 2006 and Section 34(1) of the Ogun State Waste Management Authority Law 2020.

Delivering judgement, Justice O Sam – Obaleye found all the waste offenders guilty of the two-count charge and sentenced them to fourteen days imprisonment or N10,000 on each count.

She also charged them to be of good behaviour and stop dumping their waste on roads and public places, as anyone of them brought to the court for the same offence will be sentenced without the option of a fine.
