The Senator representing Zamfara West in the national assembly, Abdulaziz Yari has unveiled plans to distribute 358 trucks of assorted foodstuff ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.
The foodstuffs made up of rice, millet, sugar, and maize will be shared to 17,500 households across 13 out of 14 Local Government Areas of Zamfara state.
The items would be distributed to all regardless of political leaning, Ibrahim Muhammed, Chairman of the Publicity Committee of A A Yari Political Organisation said in a statement issued in Gusau on Sunday.
He explained that more than 98 percent of the items have been successfully transported to various local government areas of the state, thus “making it easy for the beneficiaries to get their share in good time.”
The publicity committee chairman identified the beneficiaries of the palliatives to include; needy, orphans, widows and divorcees.
While assuring that distribution would begin on or before the holy month of Ramadan, Muhammad urged people to pray for the former governor, the state, and the country at large.
