The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu has clarified why a journalist was arrested at the #EndSARS Memorial Protest held at Lekki tollgate on Wednesday morning.
A journalist with Legit TV, Abisola Alawode was arrested alongside some protesters at the venue of the memorial.
Speaking with journalist, CP Odumosu said the reporter was arrested during the protest because he had no means of identification.
He noted that Alawode was immediately released when his colleagues showed up to identify him as member of their crew.
He said, “They said one journalist was arrested, he didn’t have ID card but his colleagues have identified him and I have said they should release him and he is here now. We are just being fair to everyone.”
