Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, have sustained pressure against insurgents, recording major successes between September 21 and 27 across Borno and Adamawa States.

Within the period, 14 terrorists were neutralised in coordinated operations at multiple locations, alongside the recovery of several weapons, explosives, and other items.

On September 27, troops on offensive operations killed 11 terrorists at Loskori Kura in Mafa Local Government Area, seizing four AK-47 rifles, assorted ammunition, and a cache of drugs. On the same day, another terrorist was neutralised during a night raid in Konduga LGA.

Earlier on September 22, a Boko Haram scout was taken out at Kolori Karumi, west of Alau Dam in Konduga LGA, while a fighting patrol in Zar Village, Hong LGA of Adamawa State, recovered one AK-47 rifle on September 24. Troops at Forward Operating Base, Magumeri, also intercepted another rifle from two suspected kidnappers.

On September 25, soldiers at Forward Operating Base, Azir, in Damboa, repelled a large-scale assault, killing one insurgent and recovering three AK-47 rifles and materials for improvised explosive devices.

In a bid to choke off terrorist logistics, troops intensified interdictions. On September 27, large quantities of urea fertiliser — a common component for making explosives — were intercepted at the Central Market in Mubi North, Adamawa State. The same day, 20 jerrycans of smuggled Premium Motor Spirit were seized along the Fillin Ball–Gella Road in Mubi South after smugglers abandoned them and fled.

The Military High Command lauded the troops’ gallantry and reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining aggressive operations to rid the Northeast of terrorism.
