Troops of the Nigerian Army have intercepted another abducted girl believed to be one of the Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram in Borno State in 2014.
Hauwa Joseph and her son were intercepted by troops of the 26 Task Force Brigade in Borno State on 14 June 2022, Nigerian Army said in a post on its Facebook page.
“Troops during clearance operations on 14 June 2022 intercepted another abducted girl from GGSS Chibok named Hauwa Joseph, who was kidnapped by Boko Haram on 14 April 2014.

“The intercepted Chibok girl & her baby are currently in a military medical facility.”
About 276 students were kidnapped on April 14, 2014 by Boko Haram terrorists in GSS Secondary School Chibok.
About 103 of the girls were freed following negotiations between the Nigerian government and the Boko Haram insurgents.
Some of the girls have also been rescued during military operations with babies.
