Ondo State government on Sunday moved to permanently address the incessant traffic holdups along Oba-Adesida Road, Akure, the state capital with the commencement of work on the replacement of the iron median on the road with concrete ones.
An official of the State Ministry of Works said the New Jersey median would prevent people from crossing the road.
According to him, it was discovered that the people crossing were responsible for the frequent gridlocks at the Oja-Oba section of the road.
He said the New Jersey median would also prevent accidents.
Starting from Texaco Bus stop to Post Office, the length of the median was said to be 540 linear meters.
