President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mairiga Aliyu Katuka as the chairman of the Board of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale,who disclosed this in a statement on Friday also listed other members of the SEC board.
Other members of the board include;
(1) Mr. Emomotimi Agama — Director-General
(2) Frana Chukwuogor — Executive Commissioner (Legal and Enforcement)
(3) Mr. Bola Ajomale — Executive Commissioner (Operations)
(4) Mrs. Samiya Hassan Usman — Executive Commissioner (Corporate Services)
(5) Mr. Lekan Belo — Non-Executive Commissioner
(6) Mr. Kasimu Garba Kurfi — Non-Executive Commissioner
According to the statement, the President urges the newly appointed members to bring to bear their wealth of experience and competence in advancing the commission’s core mandate of developing and regulating a capital market that is dynamic, fair, transparent, and efficient, to bolster investor confidence and contribute immeasurably to the nation’s economic development.
