Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state and his erstwhile presidential campaign team led by Gen Tunde Ogbeha on Thursday visited former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar at his home in Abuja.
Gov. Tambuwal had ceded his aspiration to seek the nomination of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to be its presidential candidate in favor of Alhaji Abubakar last Saturday.
Members of the Tambuwal team during the visit include: Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, Engr. Bello Suleiman, Barrister Mahdi Aliyu Gusau, Hon. Yemi Arokodare, Hajiya Mariya Waziri, Nicholas Msheliza, Barrister Steve Emelieze, Barrister Paul Kazeem and Hajiya Fatima Saleh.

After the visit an elated Alhaji Atiku wrote on his social media platform that he “excitedly paused my domestic activities to receive our able Gov Aminu Tambuwal when he paid me a courtesy visit.”
He added that they “discussed a wide range of issues, especially the need for our party, the PDP, to stand united ahead of the 2023 elections,” reaffirming that the party remains “one family,” calling on all Nigerians to join it to rescue and rebuild the country in 2023.
