Super Eagles and Real Sociedad striker, Umar Sadiq will be out for the rest of the season has he is set to undergo surgery on Thursday.
The striker ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in Real Sociedad’s 2-1 defeat against Getafe on Sunday.
The Club in a statement on its official website said the surgery is scheduled for 15th September in Vitoria.
“After suffering a rupture of his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, Sadiq Umar will undergo surgery on 15th September in Vitoria, with Dr Mikel Sánchez taking control of the procedure,”
Sadiq moved to Real Sociedad from Almeria this summer.
The 25-year-old is expected to miss the remainder of the campaign as a result of the setback
