Activist and presidential aspirant Omoyele Sowore has accused Obidients movement of deceiving Nigerians while describing them as part of a “political Ponzi scheme.”

Speaking to journalists outside the Federal High Court following his court appearance, Sowore warned Nigerians against being misled by the movement.

“The pity you should feel is for those who are fooled by them,” he said. “I’m not talking about those actively helping to justify criminal alliances. I mean the large numbers of people being used by these lies.”

Sowore alleged that followers are manipulated into believing they are supporting nation-building, only to discover later they are part of a “political Ponzi scheme.”

He compared the movement’s dynamics to MMM-style schemes, highlighting the contradictions of defending individuals labeled as criminals one day and praising them the next.

“They are the only people who plan to fail,” he added, emphasizing the risks of blind loyalty to political figures and movements without accountability.

The remarks follow Sowore’s successful court proceedings to obtain a Certified True Copy of a ruling that struck out a cybercrime charge previously filed against him, which he described as politically motivated.
