Award-winning South African rapper, AKA, has been shot dead.
The musician whose real name is Kiernan Forbes was was shot and killed – along with another man – in a shooting at a popular night spot on Durban’s Florida Road on Friday night.
The shooting occurred in the popular entertainment district, which was brought to a standstill after police officers closed the road.
A first responder at the scene, reported that Forbes was shot while standing on the pavement when gunfire rang out shortly after 22:00.
AKA, just few hours before his death had posted activities with friends, including their sharing of drinks at a restaurant and visit to the barbing salon.
Forbes was billed to perform in the city on Friday night.
