The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Mr. Musa Aliyu for appointment as Chairman, Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Also confirmed were Professor Gaji Dantata and Saka Suleiman as members of Federal Judicial Service Commission representing Kano and Kwara states.
Letters from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu requesting for screening and confirmation of the were read on the floor of the Red Chamber on Wednesday at plenary.
Their screening and confirmation were sequel to the consideration and approval of a motion by Senate Majority Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele at the Committee of the Whole.
Before their screening and confirmation, Senate suspended its rule to allow the admittance of the nominees and other guest into the chamber.
The nominees were led to the Chamber by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Abdullahi Gumel.
Current Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice in Jigawa state, Musa Aliyu who is the nominee for the ICPC assured the nation that if confirmed, he will live by example in the investigation and fight against corruption.
Deputy President of Senate, Barau Jibrin, who presided over plenary, in his remarks after their confirmation charged them to see their appointment as a call to service.
